The Entry that Started it all; from my other blog

As any regular reader would have noticed this blog has been very sporadically updated and it's about to change. Not completely, it will still be mainly based on film and the music that influence my life, but I had what many people would call a mental break recently and was finally hospitalized and officially diagnosed as having bi-polar disorder. I had felt that I had the disorder for a while and have been seeing a psychiatrist but because the vast majority of my symptoms were depressive rather than manic it has been hard to get a sure diagnosis. This time I was able to go to the hospital while manic and was still diagnosed as having a major depressive diagnoss whle simulataneously being treated with mood stabilizers consistent with the treatment of bi-polar disorder (formerly known as manic-depression.) My personal psychaitrist is has now officially diagnosed me as bi-polar but only after this last episode. It's hard to disagnose until symptoms arrive and for me the symptoms of the mania, the non depressive side of bi-polar just weren't showing themselves. But I'm on the right medication now and I feel better than I ever have, so I think that things worked out as best they could.
This blog will remain as it has been only hopefully updated much more frequently. If my personal issues begin to take center stage I'll start another blog to tackle them by themselves. I honestly don't know if that will happen or not. We'll see.
In the meantime please watch Prozac Nation starring one of my favorite actresses Christina Ricci in the most accurate display of bi-polar disorder I've ever seen on film. It was directed by the guy who directed the original Swedish (I think) version of Insomnia.

My other blog is a film criticism sife you're interested it is locataed here Exile in Myville
